My top 10 favorite yoga exercises

Image
Hi! I have not been posting the last few weeks because I have been busy revamping all my old blog posts (more than 160 in total! Besides this blog I have https://sfiprofittc.blogspot.se/ and https://wordpress.com/view/topcat66blog.wordpress.com, have a look.) However I feel the need to write a fresh post and since I have been doing yoga 10 minutes every morning (alternating with pilates and standing ab workouts) and I love top-10 lists, here is my favorite 10 yoga exercises. The pictures are all from pixabay as I haven't gotten around to making my own yet. General tips: exercising should be strenous but not painful. Remember to breathe! How long you should hold a pose is up to you. I generally count 3-4 breaths. It feels more useful to hold a pose then to run through them at high speed.  tripleclicks.com Kinesiology Tape Sports Muscles Care Therapeutic Bandage —  €10.53   (Save 16%!) Back pain, yoga, stress and exams

Image
HI! Sorry I have not posted for a while. I currently work officially 220% (70% job, 50% course at one university plus a 100% course at another university). Since this is of course not humanly possible I have a lot of stress. Probably that is the cause of my back pain, which suddenly appeared early in the morning of the 30th of September. Since then I wake up every night/early morning going bonkers. The pain is centered between my shoulder blades but often extends down both sides of my spine. I have taken up yoga both to help with the back pain and to relieve stress. I do 10-20 minutes every morning, getting up at 6 on working days, and usually my back pain is manageable after that. My condition has also improved, even doing so little.  tripleclicks.com Massage Cream Relief Pain In Muscles And Joints Essential Oils Muscle Pain Ointment Essential Oil —  €10.94   (Save 9%!) Getting started again: finding motivation

Hi! After months of inactivity for various reasons (first a lung inflammation, then a long vacation in which I have been active but not really exercising, and then simply lack of motivation) I started running again last week. After my second run, however, I broke one of my toes. Not by running but by stumbling over a treshold. Yes, as stupid as that. So currently walking hurts, it even hurts when I am still. The toe is swollen stiff. So running is out of the question for the moment. However I realize this does not mean that I cannot exercise, so I am going to start by going back to the very first sets of exercises. Since I know that they are intensive but short it is easier to get up motivation then by doing something longer like a run. 15-min daily exercise fitness program: week 4 day 3: NEW EXERCISES!

Image
Hi! Today I have an intensive short program with all new exercises. Now don't get too upheated: these exercises have been around probably since humankind, but I just have not had them before in my program. Be prepared for a little change. Since I am aiming for compound exercises that use multiple muscle groups around the body, they are necessarily a bit, or for some maybe quite, challenging. If you cannot do some of the exercises, do an easier variation. I cannot do a pistol squat yet...but I keep trying (and falling on my scrawny ass, but never mind). The key thing is always perseverance . Equipment:  ankle and wrist weights , extra hand weights of 3 kg each, a  yoga mat, and a  towel . 1. In order to start off right, start off with something that makes you smile :) Music: (not the original but this was just SOOO good: Walking on sunshine ) for those who, like me, generally go for the original:  Katrina & the waves   Try a kick-jump: J...

Top ten stretch exercises no. 2

Image
Hi! Since my stretching exercise post is the second most popular blog post on this site, I thought it would be a good idea to make a second top 10 list. But so here is my second (alternative) list of top 10 stretching exercises, targeting the exact same muscle groups as my first list. 1. Quadriceps stretch . This is the large muscles on the front of your upper legs, which you train by running and squatting and lunges and jumps and other exercises. Sit on your knees, then lean back your upper body until the back of your head touches the floor if you can reach that far.  tripleclicks.com Anti Fatigue Compression Sleeve Relieve Swelling Ankle Socks —  €8.02   (Save 23%!)
