Hi! Here I am thinking I am doing other people a favor and it turns out to be a mess. I have written about this propolis product that is still keeping my exfoliative cheilitis under control. It flares up a bit now and then with some peeling but I very seldom have cracks or red, irritated skin around the lips anymore. However I was approached by a desperate person wanting to know about this cure and when I tried to link it to her it was not there anymore. Help! I still have a reserve bottle but the current one is almost finished. I am going to look very hard for an alternative and I will see if I can contact the original seller. Hang in there, if I find something I will post! I am going to try this one:  Propolis honey paste  but I cannot say anything about it until I have tried it.

HI! I have written several posts about exfoliative cheilitis, which is chronical cracking and peeling of the lips. I don't know if everyone who has it also has a feeling that the inside of your mouth is burned, but I had that. Very annoying not in the least because food and drink do not taste good. That has also gone away. I used a medicine called Andolex to anesthesize it, but I don't have to use that anymore. Although I have found a cure that keeps it under control, so that people do not notice it, it has not gone away forever; I need to apply salve regularly to keep my lips moist and I have to use my cure regularly. At times I have forgotten it for up to a week without a problem; other times I start getting peeling lips within 24 hours if I don't apply the liquid. Hi! Does Aloe Vera help against exfoliative cheilitis? Short answer: no. But that may not be all. I bought an Aloe Vera Gel 100% at the apothecary. At the time I was having a bad time with my lips; burning red skin around, cracking, bleeding, the works. So maybe my skin was reacting badly to anything at all, even to products I have used before without problems, I have had that before. The gel is not like the fatty products I am using to keep my lips pliable. It dries up kind of like the Sahara does after rain: it cracks . Not a good  idea if the skin already is cracking. So in order to get Aloe in, I mixed it with some cream which I previously have not reacted to. No use. I have used it for a week, which I think is long enough, and it is not working. Hi! It is more than a month ago that I posted and you would think that with the December vacation time I would have time to write. But somehow those vacation days just zip by. I have been exercising practically every day but with a handicap. On New Year's Eve I slipped and fell down the stairs and landed smack on my tailbone - in fact I went down 4 steps on it. If you have never done that, well, I cannot recommend it. It was impossible for me to walk, sit or lie down other than on my side. The next day my backside was black and blue and I was stiff as a board. I quickly realized that staying still made me more stiff, so I did a lot of walking and tried to do any exercise that would not make the pain worse. HI! So, after months of suffering from exfoliative cheilitis (chronic peeling and cracking of the lips) and burning mouth syndrome I finally decided to give the doctor a try again in August. This time I wanted to have a skin specialist. I had to wait all the way to last week, 7th of December, because they are so busy. The skin specialist took a peek at my lips and shone a light inside my mouth, told me everything looked just fine, and that my problem is called exfoliative cheilitis (as if I did not know) and that they basically were "out-treated". They had made a culture of my tongue which showed nothing, tried with antibiotics and fungicide, and tested my blood for vitamin deficiency, all to no avail. I have also had spontaneous nose bleeds the last few weeks, to which she not reacted at all but just shrugged her shoulders, and a rash all over my face combined with keratinous scales on my skin similar to the lips. HI! About a year ago, in November 2015, I developed cracked and peeling lips. Originally I thought it was because of the cold weather, although I have never had this before in 11 years of living in the Netherlands and 5 years of living in Sweden. But it did not disappear when I went back to the tropics for 5 weeks. I tried about a bucketful of different remedies. Finally in May I went to a doctor who analyzed some of the skin flakes that I kept peeling off (several cm2 a day!) and told me it was a fungus called Geotrichem, which is commonly found on your skin. No clue as to why it suddenly was a problem. I used Daktacort twice a day and it did kind of disappear over a 3-week period; however if I forgot the Daktacort for a day or two I would get it back.
