Product Review: Slimming and Firming Cream

Image
Hi! Last year I bought this Slimming and Firming and breast cream (strange combi I thought at first but it is meant to firm saggy skin, so that would be the reason). At first I tried it on my main frustration which is my belly. But then I bought the Ab Gymnic belt exerciser and you can't judge if a product is working if you are testing two at the same time! So I use the belt on my belly instead, and I started using the cream on my hips. Even if you are exercising, when you are older your body starts to sag, so that even if you are the same weight you were 10 years before, your middle may have expanded. Just a fact of life. So I noticed that although I am pretty slim the little "wings" at the top of my legs where it goes over to my backside had started developing again. Many years ago, after my first pregnancy, I used my own Slimming and Firming cream (with essential oils and herbal extracts) and had a really fine result, so I decided to give it a try again with ...

My cure for exfoliative cheilitis (chronic peeling and cracking of the lips)

Image
Hi! As I have written in another  post  I suffered from exfoliative cheilitis for 8 months. This is a chronic peeling and cracking of the lips. I also had a sore mouth on the inside and as a result of that, most of the day a burnt tongue, which made it difficult to eat. Furthermore on some days the skin around my lips would be red, swollen and itchy. The condition is painful, unsightly and definitely causes misery for the victim.                 In the other post I wrote about all the different cures I have tried; they would half fill a bucket! Creams and oils and lip balsam  and vitamins  and fish oil  and calendula salve (which did help a bit). Body Lotion Rose and Chamomile EO Products Everyday Rose and Chamomile Everyday Body Lotion For all skin types Paraben free Rose and Chamomile Everyday Body Lotion is a nourishing and protective moisturizer that applies easily...

Review of the B-active acupressure sciatica pad

Image
Hi! March 6, 2016 My husband has intense lower back pain due to an operation for sciatica which left a muscle in his back pressing on a nerve. It can be operated upon but chances are 75% he will end up in a wheel chair. So we have been trying everything available to alleviate his pain. I bought the B-active in December. It had free shipping and I guess that therefore we received it without its box with instructions, it was just in a plastic bag. I looked it up on the Internet and he has tried it out 10 times now for 2 hours at a time. Of these 10 times he felt some relief twice, four times he has felt a little relief, and the other four times there was no effect at all. As he does not have sciatica it is maybe not his thing. According to Youtube some people have had amazing relief. It is also possible that we did not apply it on the right spot as it is a bit difficult to know precisely where to place it. His opinion in total? If you do have sciatica, it is worth a ...

Healthy nutrition: what's the best foods for weight loss

Image
Hi! Today I had a colleague who asked me how I manage to stay so thin. It is not the first time I have had this question and I thought it might be interesting to take it up here. Obviously, staying at the same weight is a matter of balance. I probably actually go up and down a little in weight like everyone else, but I do not realize it. I have had times when I was a few kilos up or down from my current weight which is somewhere around 65 kg. At my 1.80 m this is just fine. I do not want to lose weight. I would like to add muscle. I am not the least concerned about my weight, factually. I am interested in my body fat content, not my weight in kilos. >(or lbs).  But isn't it ironic? When I put on weight it goes on to my "jellybelly" and my hips. When I lose weight (last year I was very stressed and got down to 62 kg which is too little for me) I lose it from my face and my arms and legs, and the stubborn fat on my belly and hips stays. Sigh. So now everyone ...

15 minute fitness program, week 3, day 4

Image
Hi! Good to see you are still hanging on. I will soon have the promised top ball exercises and an alternative stretching program. For today the program consists of only 6 exercises, but believe me you will feel them. And if you don't think it is enough, just do the program once again :)!!! For today's program you are going to need an extra towel in addition to the usual weights . Music suggestions: Juanes Camisa Negra Bryan Adams Tina Turner It's only Love since we're into Bryan:  Run to you Dirty Dancing 1. Side plank with one leg lifted - believe me this is a challenge. If it is not to you, hats off! Lie on your left side and support your weight on your left elbow and the inside of your left foot, you are trying to make a "plank" of your body or to form a straight line. This is already challenging. Now you are going to lift up your right leg at an angle from the supporting leg. Keep it up for 30 seconds, Alternate with another exerc...

15-minute fitness training workout program, week 3, day 3

Image
Hi! If you come here more often for new programs you will have noticed that I don't post every day. I simply can't manage to find the time to find new exercises every day. So I can't entirely stick to my original idea. However, that does not mean I don't exercise....I simply take one of the older programs and if it is from the 10-minute program, I do 50% more reps. Probably what you do too. But that is of course not the intention of this blog. So today you are going to get a splitter-new 15-minute exercise program. I just finished it and it is demanding, so adapt it after your needs and possibilities. I promise I will update with pictures this weekend. Equipment: besides ankle weights , wrist weights and extra 2 kg weights today's program requires a chair or sofa or stepping board . Tip: I alternate exercises between reps, for instance I do 10 push-ups, 30 seconds plank with leg lifts, repeat twice. It is easier than doing it all after each other. ...
