I just love my new body: how to get rid of belly fat for women

Image
Hi! Yesterday morning I broke one of my own rules, which is to not do the same workout routine on consecutive days. I did this fabulous yoga workout from Boho Beautiful (love you guys!) on Tuesday and I almost managed to do it entirely. But not quite, I got stuck a bit on the plank. So to make things right I did it again and managed it in its entirety without pause. YOOHOO!!!! So that is worth a post I think. I have lost about 0,5kg up to 1 kg (hard to determine) of belly fat in about 8 months. I don't have a 6-pack yet, but I think if I keep going on I might get there. And this is how I did it: I get up every morning at 6 am, unless it is weekend or day off when I get up at 8 or even 8:30, and I do a 10 or in the weekend 15 minute workout. Often I use yoga because I have a painful back and  I feel it helps but it can also be a cardio workout, a full body workout, a core workout, Pilates workout or whatever I can find on Youtube.  If the Internet is down ag...

Does the time of day matter for the effectiveness of your training?

Image
Hi! Since about half a year ago I started working out every day, early in the morning on working days (6 am) and a little later during weekends (8:30-9 am). For me it feels very good and I have seen an impressive result in losing persistent belly fat. I don't have that much of it, and I am not overweight, but until recently I always looked, like, 3 months pregnant. I have always had this, by the way, since I was a teenager, but it has not improved after having 2 children and even at the time that I was most well-trained (that would be when I was doing kickboxing 3 times a week) I would have this persistent little belly. Even when I was at my lowest weight, 47 kg (way too thin for my1.80 m) I still had it! But now I have lost most of it thanks to my daily workout routine. I am convinced that the reason for this: 1. The intensity of the 10 minutes exercise; 2. The variation in exercise. Another reason for my results, I thought, was exercising early in the morning. Because ins...

More best abs workouts

Hi! I am going to do some research on whether the time of day that you workout makes a difference. Since about half a year ago I do my workouts first thing in the morning and it has been very effective for me. Not only can I see a clear difference in my body, not just my abs and belly but also my arms are pretty muscular now (compared to before, at least :)) thanks to all the planks and pushups. But also that I am improving without (to me it seems) a great effort. I did this workout this morning: Fast & Furious Abs workout and the great thing is, I did it some weeks ago and thought it pretty challenging. I could not do the side plank crunch and had to do the modification on one knee. This time around it was an ok workout but I thought: "Was that all?" when it was over, was tempted to do some extra work but didn't have the time, and I had no problem at all with the side plank crunches. Now THAT makes me motivated to continue! Here are some more abs wor...

My favorite standing abs workouts

Image
Hi! Yes, I have been to Mallorca over the weekend, so I didn't do much exercise and the hotel was excellent, so on coming back I felt the flab...... time to start exercising again. The last few days I have been doing mostly abdominal exercises because I feel that is where I need most exercise. I find that with the pain in my back I actually hate doing crunches. So I have been focusing on standing abs exercising, which are less effective but much better for the back, and you just do some extra to compensate. There are tons of routines on Youtube but many of them are no good. They stand for precious minutes yapping or the exercises are not intense enough or they go way too slow or, like Lumowell, the exercises are ok but the video is so boring you threaten to fall asleep. I will make my own standing abs exercise program in the future - which will be short and intense- but I need more time. So here are a couple of  routines that I really like and would recommend (none ha...

Back pain, yoga, stress and exams

Image
HI! Sorry I have not posted for a while. I currently work officially 220% (70% job, 50% course at one university plus a 100% course at another university). Since this is of course not humanly possible I have a lot of stress. Probably that is the cause of my back pain, which suddenly appeared early in the morning of the 30th of September. Since then I wake up every night/early morning going bonkers. The pain is centered between my shoulder blades but often extends down both sides of my spine. I have taken up yoga both to help with the back pain and to relieve stress. I do 10-20 minutes every morning, getting up at 6 on working days, and usually my back pain is manageable after that. My condition has also improved, even doing so little.  tripleclicks.com Massage Cream Relief Pain In Muscles And Joints Essential Oils Muscle Pain Ointment Essential Oil —  €10.94   (Save 9%!) Yoga as stress relief and body toning

Image
Hi! Yes, I am still doing exercises every morning and feeling so happy about it! Most days I wake to intense back pain (which I attribute to too much stress) and yoga definitely helps the pain to go away, but also it stimulates my brain and gets me off to a running start. I always do exercise first, have a shower and then breakfast (yoghurt, muesli and fresh fruit; later in the morning I usually take half a (whole-grain) bun with cheese and turkey breast). Eating just before exercise does not go well with me. I do drink 1-2 glasses of lemon water (water in which we put lemon slices overnight) when I wake up.  tripleclicks.com Mini Yoga Ball —  €9.72   (Save 19%!) Just for fun I have now also tried out some fitness programs instead of just yoga. I notice that my whole body is tightening up. My abs are less flab, my bum is firmer (though not any less scrawny) and my arms and legs are more muscular. I also feel less tired and have more energy. All in all...

Back pain and yoga

Hi! I haven't posted for a while due to being busy. I am always busy, but the past 3 months more than usual: I work 70%, I have a 50% distance course in Malmö going on and a 100% distance course in Karlstad as well. It gets to be pretty much. The good news is that after New Year it will be much quieter because I will only have work and the 50% course. So I am holding out... Product review: the electronic gymnic massage exerciser

Image
Hi! I bought an "Abdominal Belt Exerciser" a while ago but it took me some time to get around to try it. I have been trying it out for a month now and I definitely have the idea that it is working. In the beginning it was hard because although the instructions are very clear and precise, the little device is not working as stated. However I have now found out how to work it: the on/off knob works for turning it on and off. Once it is on you press the Mode button (the triangle) which starts a program, you press the Mode knob repeatedly to change program to get to the one you want,  and then the on/off knob works for increasing the intensity of the electric pulses. Pay attention here: the knob only goes UP in intensity, so in order to get back to a lower intensity you  have to press the third button, which turns it off, or take off the belt, and get all the way to 10, the highest intensity, after which it returns to 1. The higher intensities can be quite uncomfortable. The...

15.minute daily fitness training program: Week 4 day 7: Exercises for when you have a bad back

Image
Hi! My husband has been following my antics with my fitness program  with considerable amusement under a long time, and while he is interested in the exercises, he suffers from a bad back since an operation gone wrong 5 years ago and therefore cannot do most of them. So I made up a program especially for him and thought I would share that. Mind you: this is NOT a program to help you overcome your bad back. This is a program that you can (possibly) DO with a bad back. Backs are individuals just like we are. What works for him might not work for you. Try out each exercise and see how it feels. You are the best judge of your back and what you can and cannot. Experiment; try out variations; if something is too hard, try an easier version, if something seems too easy, put on weights rather than add repetitions, is my advice. Equipment needed : when you are trying it out, only a towel  and a yoga mat . Once you have found out some exercises that you like, you might like to t...
