Exercising with a bad back part 2 Standing exercises

Image
Hi! As promised the second part of my current training program with the standing exercises for a painful back. In the meantime my back has healed mostly so I will soon start running again, but for those of you who don't have the luxury of healing, here it is. As always I use  ankle and wrist weights , a  yoga mat  (although the one I have is technically a somewhat thicker exercise  mat and I sometimes put extra cushioning on it for my back in the form of a box plaid my sister made for me) and a  towel  (I like the new microfiber ones). For the last 3 exercises you will need a resistance band , which are found in several strengths. I find for myself that it is somehow motivating to have cool-looking  training gear , I don't know if it is the tightness of the texture against my skin or that I look better in the mirror than having some baggy jogging pants . I love those for lounging around the house, but for exercising I need some sli...

Massage: how to perform a simple back massage

Hi! In waiting to pounce on one of my unsuspecting family members to take more pics for the chair and towel exercises, I wanted to discuss an important aspect in my life: massage. Not that I am getting it often, but I give it often, and also I used to produce all-natural massage oils with my own company and am still very interested in them. I have a collection of  essential oils  still from my days as a health & wellness products company and I generally let the victim of my massage choose the essential oil by smell, as I believe your body knows what's good for it. Currently I have something with Mandarin; I have a lovely body butter from the Body Shop that improves my mood whenever I put it...

It can be operated upon but chances are 75% he will end up in a wheel chair. So we have been trying everything available to alleviate his pain. I bought the B-active in December. It had free shipping and I guess that therefore we received it without its box with instructions, it was just in a plastic bag. I looked it up on the Internet and he has tried it out 10 times now for 2 hours at a time. Of these 10 times he felt some relief twice, four times he has felt a little relief, and the other four times there was no effect at all. As he does not have sciatica it is maybe not his thing. According to Youtube some people have had amazing relief. It is also possible that we did not apply it on the right spot as it is a bit difficult to know precisely where to place it. His opinion in total? If you do have sciatica, it is worth a ...
